The SAE Student Chapter at MCKV Institute of Engineering has been a pioneer in promoting automotive innovation and technical excellence among engineering students. Established in 2007, it was the first SAE Student Chapter in the Eastern Region under SAE India. Since its inception, the chapter has played a significant role in nurturing practical engineering skills, teamwork, leadership, and innovation among students of the Automobile Engineering department.
The chapter actively encourages students to participate in prestigious national-level design, manufacturing, and racing competitions such as BAJA SAEINDIA, e-BAJA, SUPRA SAEINDIA, Effi-Cycle, SAEINDIA REEV, and Go-Kart championships. These events provide students with hands-on exposure to vehicle design, fabrication, testing, project management, and sustainable mobility technologies.
Every year, MCKVIE students enthusiastically participate in competitions like BAJA, SUPRA, and Effi-Cycle, earning appreciation for their technical expertise, dedication, and innovative approach. The chapter also organizes workshops, expert lectures, industrial interactions, and technical activities to bridge the gap between classroom learning and industrial practices.
With strong faculty guidance and active student involvement, the SAE Student Chapter continues to inspire future engineers to excel in the rapidly evolving automotive and mobility sector.
