As the Head of the Department of Information Technology at MCKV Institute of Engineering, I take immense pride in leading a department that has consistently upheld academic excellence, innovation, and professional growth since its establishment in 1999. Over the years, the department has grown remarkably with a large and vibrant student community, a strong alumni network contributing across academia and industry, and a team of highly qualified and dedicated faculty members committed to quality education and research.
The department is enriched with excellent infrastructure, modern laboratories, advanced computing facilities, and a learning environment that encourages innovation and interdisciplinary collaboration. The department had previously received NBA accreditation, reflecting its commitment to maintaining high academic standards and outcome-based education practices.
To bridge the gap between academia and industry, the department has established multiple MoUs with reputed companies and organizations, facilitating internships, training, industry interaction, collaborative projects, and placement opportunities for students. Regular seminars, workshops, expert talks, hackathons, and technical events are organized to enhance students’ technical competencies and industry readiness. In parallel, Faculty Development Programs (FDPs), training sessions, and research-oriented activities are continuously conducted for faculty upgradation and knowledge enhancement.
The department also encourages high-quality research and innovation, reflected through publications in reputed journals and conferences, funded projects, book publications, and active participation in emerging technology domains. With a strong focus on academic excellence, industry collaboration, research, innovation, and holistic student development, the Department of Information Technology continues to contribute significantly towards creating skilled professionals and responsible technologists for society.
