Course Overview
The M.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering (Communication) is a two-year full-time postgraduate program designed to develop highly skilled academic professionals and researchers in the rapidly evolving field of communication engineering.

The curriculum is aligned with emerging technological advancements and industry requirements, incorporating cutting-edge topics such as 5G/6G Communication Systems, Software Defined Radio (SDR), Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence applications in Communications, and other contemporary research areas. This ensures that students gain both theoretical knowledge and practical expertise relevant to modern communication technologies.

The department is supported by AICTE (MODROB)-funded state-of-the-art laboratories equipped with advanced instruments and industry-standard software tools, including HFSS, CST Microwave Studio, QualNet, and MATLAB. These facilities enable students to acquire hands-on technical skills in communication engineering as well as interdisciplinary domains.

For an M.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering, the Program Educational Objectives (PEOs) are as follows:

  • PEO-I: Advanced Professional Competence Graduates will establish themselves as competent professionals in Electronics and Communication Engineering by applying advanced knowledge and technical skills to analyze, design, and solve complex engineering problems in industry, academia, and research organizations.
  • PEO-II: Research, Innovation, and Lifelong Learning Graduates will engage in independent research, innovation, and development activities, contributing to technological advancements in Electronics and Communication Engineering while pursuing lifelong learning and adapting to emerging technologies.
  • PEO-III: Technical Leadership and Communication Graduates will demonstrate technical leadership and professional ethics by effectively communicating engineering solutions through technical reports, publications, presentations, and collaborative projects, thereby contributing to society and the engineering profession.
Programme Specific Outcomes
For an M.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering, the PSOs are as follows:

  • PSO – I: Advanced Communication System Design and Analysis Graduates will be able to analyze, model, design, and optimize modern analog and digital communication systems, wireless networks, and signal processing techniques using advanced mathematical tools and simulation platforms to meet contemporary communication requirements.
  • PSO – II: Research and Innovation in Communication Technologies Graduates will be able to independently conduct research and develop innovative solutions in emerging areas such as 5G/6G communications, MIMO systems, software-defined radio, IoT communications, cognitive radio and satellite communications, in communication engineering.
  • PSO - III: Development and Professional Dissemination of Communication Engineering Solutions Graduates will be able to develop, implement, validate, and communicate advanced communication system solutions through high-quality technical reports, research publications, patents, prototypes, and professional presentations while demonstrating mastery in the Communication Engineering domain.
