Eligibility Criteria for Admission
B.Tech (Regular):
- Candidates must have valid WBJEE / JEE (Main) Score.
- Candidates must have passed the qualifying examination (10+2) with Physics and Mathematics along with Chemistry / Biotechnology / Biology / Computer Science / Computer Applications / Technical Vocational subjects with individual pass marks (in both theory and practical, wherever applicable) in all three subjects as stated above in regular class mode.
- Candidates must have obtained at least 45% marks (40% in case of SC, ST, OBC, PwD) in all the three subjects taken together. As mentioned in Table 8.4 in AICTE Approval Process Handbook-2024, and as annexed (Appendix-7).
- Candidates must have passed English in “10+2” examination with at least 30% marks.
- The board of qualifying examination must be recognized either by the Central or State Government.
- Both B.Sc. Candidates and Diploma holders in Engineering & Technology will also be eligible for admission to the 1st year Engineering Degree Courses, subject to vacancies in the 1st year classes in case the vacancies as lateral entry at second year are exhausted. However, the admission shall be based strictly on the eligibility criteria as mentioned above.
- The candidate must pass B. Sc. /B.Voc. Degree from any University recognised by UGC with at least 45% (40% for SC/ ST/ OBC-A/ OBC-B/ PwD) marks.
- Also, the B.Sc. candidate must have passed the 12th standard school examination with Mathematics as a subject.
- The candidate, if admitted, will have to clear the subjects of Engineering Mechanics and Engineering Graphics / Engineering Drawing of the 1st year Degree Course in Engineering/Technology, along with their second-year subjects.
- M.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering : B.E./ B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering or M.Sc. in Electronics / Physics (with Electronics specialization).
- M.Tech in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / Technology from recognized institutions approved by AICTE / UGC / Government. OR Master’s degree in Science / Technology / MCA from institutions approved by UGC / AICTE / Government.
- Candidates applying for BBA programs should have passed / appeared in higher secondary examination in the general or vocational stream under the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Educations or its equivalent examinations.
- Candidates applying for PG programs should have passed/appeared in 3 / 4 years Bachelor’s Degree/ Honours / Major or with a minimum of 140 credit point program from a recognised university.
