IEEE Student Chapter

The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers’ student Branch was established in the MCKV Institute of Engineering on 14th November, 2025. The student branch consists of 18 students from the CSE and IT Departments. The chief guest, Prof. (Dr.) Suparna Kar Chowdhury, Chairperson, Guest of Honour Prof (Dr.) Angsuman Sarkar, Past Chairman of IEEE EDS Kolkata Chapter, emphasized the importance of IEEE as a global platform for advancing technology and encouraged students to actively participate in IEEE activities. highlighted the benefits of the IEEE Student Branch and emphasized the value of IEEE membership, its opportunities for research collaboration, and the need for continuous learning in an ever-evolving technological world. Many students from different departments of MCKVIE attended the program.

Dr. Kalyan Biswas has been selected as the IEEE coordinator of MCKVIE. Several events have been held under the IETE umbrella during this short period.

1. Inauguration of IEEE Student Branch at MCKVIE, followed by a technical session of Dr. Ansuman Sarkar, Past Chairman of IEEE EDS Kolkata Chapter

2. IEEE SSCS Distinguished Lecture Program was held on 16th December, 2025 (11 AM-1.00 PM), MCKV Institute of Engineering by Prof. Shanthi Pavan, NT Alexander Chair Professor, Department of Electrical Engineering, IIT Madras, who delivered the lecture on “Continuous-Time Pipelined Analog-to-Digital Converters – Where Filtering Meets Analog-to-Digital Conversion”.

In the future, both departments plan to organize Expert Talks, student training programs, student workshops, and a Technical Quiz under the umbrella of IEEE.
