Computer Science & Engineering (Data Science)

MCKV Institute of Engineering (MCKVIE) is one of the leading visionary engineering colleges in West Bengal to introduce B.Tech in Computer Science Engineering course with Data Science specialization. The Department envisions to impart quality education with experienced faculty members who have extensive exposure in this field. The aspiring data science engineers studying at MCKV Institute of Engineering will be trained with advanced analytical and programming skills. The data science engineers at MCKVIE will not only be experts in designing, developing, testing, and maintaining complex and large-scale database architectures and processing systems but they will also be competent to extract meaningful insights from the raw data to get it ready for analysis.

The CSE – Data Science specialization Department under MCKV Institute of Engineering will be equipped with state-of-the-art laboratories and strategic academic and industry collaborations to enable students with latest best practices and hands-on industry exposure related with this field. Facilitating industry interaction of the data science students will also strengthen research orientation in this domain.

Massive explosion in data and the expanding need of the industries to rely on data to create better products, offer improved services and take informed business decisions has made data science a reigning technology that will dominate industries today and tomorrow. The subject of Data Science encompasses other important disciplines like Statistics, Mathematics, and Programming. As a result, data science students of MCKV Institute of Engineering will be trained to imbibe multi-disciplinary learning approach and embrace a steep learning curve to become competent professionals in this field.

The students of B-Tech CSE with Data Science specialization from MCKV Institute of Engineering are encouraged to undertake innovative experiential projects to develop the proficiency of understanding diverse trends and patterns in the data. This course will enable data science engineering students to develop the skills of data extraction, manipulation, visualization, maintenance and a predictive ability from an efficient analysis of the data. In fact the new age data science professions must be endowed with a sound knowledge of machine learning algorithms. This helps the industries to evaluate any kinds of performance and suggest intelligent data insights to provide necessary solutions to boost it.
