Principal’s Address

It gives me immense pleasure to welcome you to MCKV Institute of Engineering, which is ISO 9001:2008 certified and recipient of the prestigious World Bank Aid for Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme (TEQIP-II), subcomponent 1.1 for comprehensive quality improvement of higher technical education in the country. MCKV Institute of Engineering was established in the year 1999 as the first self financing degree level engineering college in Howrah District, approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and affiliated to West Bengal University of Technology (WBUT). Two of our B. Tech courses are NBA accredited. The continuous upgradation of facilities at MCKVIE, coupled with highly qualified and experienced faculty, has brought the institute to the forefront in the educational scenario in the State of West Bengal.

The Institute aspires to be a centre of excellence in its areas of specialization. The assets of the Institute include a team of full-time dedicated qualified faculty members in the relevant branches of engineering, a well developed central library, an upgraded computer center, a sprawling workshop complex, a state-of-the-art English Communication Skill Development Lab., and several well developed Computer, Electronics, Electrical, Automobile & Mechanical laboratories.

We emphasize on the interactions with the industry and recently, the MCKVIE-Eicher Centre for Automobile Engineering has started providing quality training programmes to students, faculty members and to others associated with the automobile engineering sector. Our students are always encouraged to participate in various national and international competitions. They have won many awards and accolades from these events. We are proud that our students stand tall in knowledge and application in today’s challenging world.
