M.Tech in Artificial Intelligence & Data Science

M.Tech in Artificial Intelligence & Data Science (AI & DS) is a two years full time post-graduate degree programme for the graduates who would like to pursue their career in the field of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science. Artificial Intelligence (AI) is the science and technology of creating intelligent systems that can perceive, learn, reason, and act to solve problems or perform tasks with minimal human intervention. Data Science (DS) is an interdisciplinary discipline that integrates statistical methods, machine learning, data engineering, and computational techniques to extract knowledge, generate predictive insights, and support evidence-based decision-making from large and complex datasets.

M.Tech in Artificial Intelligence & Data Science (AI & DS) stands at the confluence of intellect and innovation, cultivating sentient systems that emulate human cognition, transforming data into wisdom, and redefining the frontiers where computational precision converges with human intuition. The main focus of the course is to foster innovation and research by providing deep understanding of theoretical insights from the root and providing hypothetical route-map to solve real-world challenges.

The curriculum encompasses diverse domains, including Natural Language Processing, Computer Vision, Healthcare, Cyber Intelligence, and Text Mining. Furthermore, students will explore cutting-edge advancements in Autonomous Systems, Generative AI, Explainable AI (XAI), and Agentic AI, among other emerging fields. After completion of the course, Post-Graduates and Researchers in the field of (AI & DS) will not only become just a “programmer”, they will be able to establish themselves as the “architects of intelligence”.

In this M.Tech Program, PhD holder and experienced Faculty members are involved for teaching and Thesis guidance and Interdisciplinary projects.

Eligibility Criteria:

A.  Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / Technology from recognized institutions approved by AICTE / UGC / Government.

Or

B.  Master’s degree in Science / Technology / MCA from institutions approved by UGC / AICTE / Government.

Candidates yet to appear or have appeared in the final examination for the qualifying degree specified in [(A)].

The primary focus of the M.Tech (AI & DS) course is to build the students ability to meet the industry expectations and making them industry-ready through capstone projects, proto-type design, research-based analytical discussion, model deployment. The backbone of the M.Tech (AI & DS) curriculum is made in such a way, students will become confident, focused, diligent and exceptional and will be able to find the potential to become future entrepreneurs. The faculty members of the department are rich in both academic and research experience and are committed to individual student’s growth.

We do give preference on the approach “learning by doing” – where potential students are working in small groups, sharing their insightful thoughts, exchanging analytical views and deploying interactive models in the diverse domains like Computer Vision, Healthcare, Cyber Intelligence, Natural Language Processing (LLMs, LBMs etc.), Genrative AI, Explanable AI, Agenting AI, Prompt Engineering and many more.

MCKVIE do have the collaboration with Intel through Intel Unnati Program. At MCKVIE Campus, Centre of Excellence – Intel® Unnati Data-Centric Lab in Emerging Technologies – Artificial Intelligence Lab is established, where students will get flavor of working in server environment (GPU) and also will get a better exposure in handling complex ML/DL models with large datasets.
