Department has a proud legacy of recognition, being accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA) in 2009, 2016, 2019, and 2022 in B.Tech. Computer Science & Engineering program. The Computer Science and Engineering program provides a strong foundation in core computing principles while progressively introducing students to advanced and emerging technologies. The curriculum integrates theoretical concepts with practical skills in areas such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, Internet of Things, Cloud Computing, Cyber Security, Fullstack Web Development, and Quantum Technology to prepare students for modern technological challenges.

The Department of Computer Science & Engineering, established in 1999, is one of the oldest and most distinguished departments of MCKV Institute of Engineering. Since its inception, the department has consistently progressed through continuous academic and technological advancement, earning a strong reputation for producing highly skilled and industry-ready engineers. Over the years, its alumni have secured prestigious positions in several reputed national and international organizations, reflecting the quality of education and professional grooming imparted by the department.

The department has always emphasized strong technical foundations while preparing students to adapt to the rapidly evolving landscape of technology. This has been made possible through an excellent teacher–student relationship and a learner-centric academic environment. The faculty members come from strong academic backgrounds and are alumni of renowned institutions such as Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology, Shibpur, Jadavpur University, and various National Institutes of Technology, among others.

Keeping pace with emerging technological trends, the department introduced the Data Science program in 2020 and the Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning program in 2022. Although relatively new, both programs have quickly embraced the academic culture and excellence of the CSE department and are already contributing to the development of highly competent and future-ready students.

The department also maintains collaborations with leading organizations such as Intel and Infosys, creating opportunities for industry interaction and practical exposure. Students are continuously encouraged to undertake internships and research-oriented training in reputed organizations and institutes including Indian Space Research Organisation, Department of Science and Technology, Indian Institutes of Technology, Indian Statistical Institute, and Indian Institute of Science.

In addition, the department’s strong academic collaboration with Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City has provided valuable international exposure to both students and faculty members. These initiatives collectively contribute to enhancing the employability, technical expertise, and global outlook of the students.
