MCKV Institute of Engineering (MCKVIE) is one of the most renowned academic institutions in West Bengal. It introduced a 2 year full-time course of MBA under the department of Management Science and Humanities(MSH) in the year 2020. [The name of the department has been recently(in July, 2024) changed to the department of Management Science(MS).] This course will allow students to develop skills and competencies that will make them industry-ready, and will enable them to lead organizations. The management program offered by MCKVIE will develop aspiring management professionals and enable them to efficiently manage operations, resources, systems, finance and marketing, thereby preparing them to make intelligent business decisions, streamline processes, and enhance organizational performances.
The department endeavours to create a unique identity by not only catering to students’ needs for enhancing linguistic skills and managerial acumen, but also by grooming them through personality development sessions, mock interviews, seminars, presentations, group discussions, and case studies.
The teachers encourage progressive and analytical thinking, with an aim to enhance professional competence and promote relevant managerial skills. The Management wing familiarizes learners with the necessity of human values and importance of corporate ethics, besides helping them with the regular curricula, which are in tune with the demands of the Industry. The department pays individual attention to each student and ensures that they collectively are ready for the dynamic professional spheres. It also regularly organizes seminars and workshops that are conducted by professionals, academicians, and even the alumni. These make students aware of the needs of the job market.
The Corporate Communication classes of MBA students are conducted in the state-of-the-art English Communication Laboratory with all the modern facilities. Currently, the department comprises of experienced faculty members who are engaged in research and training activities.

1. To encourage a teaching learning process for proper dissemination of knowledge leading to employability enhancement.

3. To develop theoretical knowledge of the students and make them skilled professionals by involving them in application- oriented activities like project works, internships, workshops, expert lecture sessions, seminars and other industry- oriented programs.

4. To instill desire and ability of lifelong learning and professional developments through self-study and continuous education to enable the students to meet changing societal demands for sustainable development.

MCKV Institute of Engineering offers Four-year Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree programme approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) in alignment with National Education Policy (NEP), 2020.

The curriculum is structured as:

  • Major courses (Marketing Management, Financial Management, Human Resource Management)
  • Minor courses (Computer Applications)
  • Interdisciplinary courses (Graphic Design Basics, Accounting, 3D Printing)
  • Ability-Enhancement courses (English and Business Communication, Modern Language and Literature, Indian Constitution and Society, Culture, and Human Behaviour)

Common Value-Added Courses (Yoga/Health and Wellness, Mental Health, Financial Tech, and Leadership Skills).

  • AICTE-approved eight-semester program of 160 (for BBA Hons.) and 172 (for BBA Hons. with Research) credit points.
  • One-week Bridge Course in Mathematics, Accounts, MS Office and Basic English before the main course.
  • Following the sixth semester, professional organisations provide eight weeks of summer training to the students.
  • Orientation to contemporary business decision-making tools like:
          1.  Data analytics/visualization tools: MS Excel, SPSS, R, Python
          2.  Programming languages: C and Java
  • Special job-oriented Value-Added Certification Courses such as Digital Marketing, Payroll Management, Tally and GST, Income with TDS.
  • Grooming of the students through personality development sessions, mock interviews, seminars, presentations, group discussions, and case studies.
  • Corporate internship at least for two months.
  • Regular industrial visits and interactions with experts from industry.
  • Start-up workshops by successful start-up founders

  • Approval: All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE)

SYLLABUS

ELIGIBILITY

Class 12 in any discipline from a recognized board/council with a valid score in Common Entrance Test (CET) conducted by MAKAUT.

COURSE FEES

1. To get up-to-date understanding of business concepts and how they are used to solve business problems.
2. To apply various managerial decision-making techniques necessary to resolve intricate administrative issues.
3. To develop future business leaders who can adjust to the demands of both domestic and international business environments.
4. To develop students who are capable of starting their own businesses on their own.
5. To generate graduates who are prepared for the workforce and who uphold the highest moral standards and environmental consciousness.

On completing the program successfully, the student will be able to :
PO-1: Gain expertise in key business domains based on best practices and recent research.
PO-2: To make prudent business decisions based on both qualitative and quantitative approaches.
PO-3: Create a mind-set that recognises and values a global, cross-cultural corporate environment.
PO-4: Find fresh business prospects and be creative at work.
PO-5: Use management techniques with an eye towards the environment while taking into account societal, health, safety, legal, and cultural concerns.
PO-6: Effectively communicate with all stakeholders as a manager in a variety of contexts.
PO-7: In diverse contexts, exhibit leadership and teamwork skills.
PO-8: When making commercial decisions, incorporate ethical issues.
PO-9: Capacity to investigate complex business issues utilising knowledge and research techniques in order to make data-driven decisions.
PO-10: The capacity to spot business possibilities and use managerial and leadership abilities to establish, run, and oversee start-ups as well as professionalise and expand family enterprises.
PO-11: The capacity to exhibit understanding of and commitment to sustainable development, as well as the ability to evaluate how managerial choices and corporate agendas affect social, economic, and environmental factors.
PO-12: Take on difficult tasks for yourself and pursue independent, lifelong learning.

The students will develop :

PSO: Marketing Management
Proficiency in marketing management and multidisciplinary tools, with both traditional and modern frameworks, to analyse, ideate, and execute operational plans in an innovative, moral, and sustainable company setting.

PSO: Financial Management
Possessing the business, interpersonal, and leadership abilities necessary to carry out financial operations in the area of financial markets, services, organisations, tools, and personal and corporate finance.

PSO: Human Resource Management
Professional skills in human resource management and related fields, including the capacity to execute operational plans, comply with the procedures, and follow evaluation methods that adhere to current legal frameworks at national and international levels.

The BBA degree provides a great foundation for a career and opens up a wide range of opportunities for professional development and research competency. BBA programs provide opportunities for a fresher to enter the corporate world smoothly. According to NEP 2020, the BBA students can also pursue career in research.
