MCKV Institute of Engineering was established in the year 1999 as the first self financing degree level engineering college in Howrah District, with approval of all India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and the Government of West Bengal. The Institute  started with three branches of engineering, namely Computer Science & Engineering(CSE), Electronics & Communication Engineering(ECE) and Information Technology(IT).In Keeping with the guiding philosophy of creating highly trained manpower in the emerging areas of technology, a degree course in Automobile Engineering was introduced in the year 2003. This year Institute has received approval from AICTE to inroduce 1) B.Tech. course in Mechanical Engineering, 2) M.Tech. in ECE and 3) MCA. All these courses are affiliated to West Bengal University of Technology (WBUT).

    The Institute aspires to be a centre of excellence in its areas of specialization. The assets of the Institute include a team of full-time dedicated qualified faculty members in the relevant branches of engineering, a well-developed central library, an upgraded computer centre, a sprawling workshop complex, a state-of-the-art  English Communication Skill Development Lab., a Satellite Interactive Terminal for E-learning through WBUT-EDUSAT interactive classes and several well-developed Computer/Electronics/Automobile-Mechanical laboratories.

    I convey my best wishes to the new students joining MCKVIE and am hopeful that their study in this college for the next few years will prove to be fruitful and glorious part of their career.
