The Institute offers  four year  B.Tech Degree courses in Engineering in the following streams:

All  the departments offer well equipped labs, academic facilities and educational technology resources.

AUTOMOBILE ENGINEERING

MCKVIE is the first college to offer this course in the state of West Bengal. Automobile is an emergent sector with introduction of new models of cars everyday. The intricacies that go in the designing of the modern automobiles, need competent engineers who are fully conversant with the concept of product design, functional utility and the integrated technology available in the product.

COMPUTER SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING

Computer Science & Engineering is a dynamic and exciting field. Its domain is vast-from robots to personal communication systems to intelligent agents to computer animation to computational biology to what not!

Rapid expansion of computers into areas such as multimedia telecommunications, and electronic commerce has created new enterprises, new industries, new ways of conceiving knowledge and art. These new expressions of computation are best studied in a flexible, integrated environment in which computer science and computer engineering are parts of a whole.

ELECTRONICS AND COMMUNICATION ENGINEERING

The Information Age has incontestably arrived, the Digital Era is here to stay, Networking is the buzzword today and Connectivity is the key to leverage information. A social metamorphosis is taking place, heralding the emergence of an Information Society in which anyone can acquire and exchange information at any time, anywhere.

The Microelectronics is at the forefront of the advancement in all these revolutionary developments. It all began in 1947 with the invention of transistors, which has been dubbed "the first electronics revolution". The second breakthrough came in the early sixties with the invention of integrated circuits. Since then, progress in microelectronics has continued unabated, upto the present-day VLSI, the Cornerstones for development of Computers and telecommunication.

The synergistic march of computers as information processing tool and telecommunications as information conveying vehicle has shrunk the barriers of distance and time, transforming the world into a Global Village. As the domains of computers and telecommunication systems are converging, with the consequent blurring of their boundaries, new services are being established. These services are mainly computer based with the Digital Computer as a general-purpose electronic device placed at the focal points of the network for processing and forwarding information. No wonder, Electronics and Communication Engineering constitute the core field of study for today's Digital Revolution.

The Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering of MCKVIE is enriched with well qualified faculty members and excellent technical support staff. It has also a vast chain of well equipped Labs which cater to the needs of the Present day students.

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY

Information Technology is a new branch of study that has emerged over the last decade. While the term " Computer Science" is usually reserved for the more theoretical, academic aspects of computing, the term " Information Technology" includes more of the human activities and non - computerized business processes like knowledge management.

Today, eight out of ten of the fastest - growing occupations are computer- related. While one might think of the typical IT worker as employed by a major software company or systems developer, the reality is that none out of ten IT workers are found in banks, insurance companies, manufacturing plants or other non - IT business.
