Introduction

Department of Computer Science & Engineering was established in 1999. The department is enriched with highly qualified faculty members and equipped with state of the art computer labs to take care precisely all the aspects of computing techniques to cater to the global needs of the day.

B. Tech 

Computer Science & Engineering is a dynamic and exciting field. Its domain is vast-from robots to personal communication systems to intelligent agents to computer animation to computational biology to what not!

Rapid expansion of computers into areas such as multimedia telecommunications, and electronic commerce has created new enterprises, new industries, new ways of conceiving knowledge and art. These new expressions of computation are best studied in a flexible, integrated environment in which computer science and computer engineering are parts of a whole.

Intake Capacity: 60 [80% students are admitted from WBJEE, 10% from AIEEE, 10% from Management Quota] + 3 students are from TFW Quota 

Additional 12 Students are admitted in 3rd Semester through JELET.

M. Tech in Computer Science & Engineering

Started in the year 2011, M.Tech Course in Computer Science and Engineering was another feather for the Department after NBA Accreditation. Total intake of 18 seats, in the starting year we had 16 students admitted through WBUT entrance mechanism. Tie ups with reputed Institute like ISI, IIT, NIT, CDAC, Jadavpur University, students are already doing the thesis in collaboration with Departmental faculties and faculties of reputed Universities. The Department is coming up with state of the art M.Tech Project Lab with recent research-software and state of the art hardware.
